What are you most curious about or invested in in your own practice? Understanding the process, its essential components, methodologies, ramifications Merging the bodily, experiential, movement based, choreographic and the cognitive, artistic, poetic and scientific Envisioning meaningful formats and settings of dissemination of the work
What questions did you bring to investigate and what questions are you leaving with? Questions brought: How to process, present research and material from previous research phase How to use vocabulary extracted from scientific papers as a generative tool for choreography Leaving with: Role/importance of danced encounters with various rock formations in this practice in the long run? What knowledge does the body gather and produce from these varied encounters? How to deal with site-specific character of the research or work created? What story is there to be told?
Transformative, creative moments at the residency I believe it was the one to one card reading - I recollected the moment of performing a piece based on Earth Run by Anna Halprin. I was aware of the score, have never done it with her. Nevertheless what came out of the work with a group of elementary school students was one of the best participatory performances ever. There was a sense of community, everybody was included, everybody contributed every voice was heard and there was an enormous authenticity of the voices. Authenticity and relevance
