| Definition of artistic practice? | I am a performance artist and climate activist. I work with performative activism and fights for a just world for life on earth. I explore the sensuousness and philosophy of species, make rituals for the diversity of life and build interactive spaces for contemplation and action. I use my body exploring the possibility of finding a balance between a growing desperation in a world of polycrisis and maintaining the belief in a different way of being human / species. |
| Title of the investigation at the residency | Corona Cave |
| Description of investigations and findings | A one-week research of being in isolation and what we bring with us of dreams and fantasies in our corona cave. I made projections on a mosquito net which covered the bed and explored various patterns and desires when in isolation. I moved around in bed embodying longing and dreaming. Susanne opened her home during corona where I visited BIRCA for the very first time and since I have continuos coming back. |
| What are you most curious about or invested in in your own practice? | How to create intimate spaces for slowness, dreams and contemplation. I like to play with materials and surreal experiences which somehow elevate you to a higher state of being |
| What questions did you bring to investigate and what questions are you leaving with? | I was exploring what kind of dreams and desires emerge when being in isolation. Also, what you wish to bring of objects in our corona cave. Today, four years later I am left with the question: what is a bed? what could this space be transformed to? |
| Transformative, creative moments at the residency | I recorded myself playing with alu foil and when I was done, the foil were spread all over the bed like small alu foil sculptures. It looked like bones or skin peeled of an animal. Also, it looked like they were exhibited because they were placed on the bed with the mosquito net framing it. I liked this bed and mosquito net as an exhibition space / performance space. |
