Definition of artistic practice? I am a performance artist and I work with performative activism, fighting for a just world for life on earth. I explore the sensuousness and philosophy of species, make rituals for the diversity of life and build interactive spaces for contemplation and action. I am of a new generation of artists who with their own bodies are exploring the possibility of finding a balance between a growing desperation in a world of polycrisis and maintaining the belief in a different way of being human / species.
Title of the investigation at the residency Expanded WE
Description of investigations and findings

Together with Charlotte Østergaard and Alex Grieco we explored the feelings of interconnectedness by navigating on unknown territories through darkness, sound and touch.

On Bornholm, we explored light / darkness and went – amongst other adventures – a four hours walk at night to find out that darkness was rare and almost inaccessible, car lights could be seen from great distance and the lights created incredible circles in the sky.

On Sardinia, we explored the Nuraghes, megalithic stones formed like caves made 3000 – 35000 years ago. The caves are also called “Tower of Light.”

We were drawn to this subject because we were wondering that maybe living on an island could feel like living in a cave. A feeling of being both isolated, distant, claustrophobic and at the same time sheltered, protected, safe. A cave which excludes / includes light / darkness.

What are you most curious about or invested in in your own practice? Full-on embodied experience is what I care about. I want others to feel and care for the wonders of our world, ot shutting off and being indifferent. What a shame when I experience this in humankind.  Art opens and touches us like the sunlight which directly affects our skin cells and does something for our well-being as we were told by Tine Nygaard, the artistic director of Bornholm Art Museum who came for a short visit at BIRCA to about light and the coming Light Museum.
What questions did you bring to investigate and what questions are you leaving with? How do we expand the we? (the sense of interconnectedness) How can we experience the different light nuances in darkness? How do we go from sightseeing to ear-hearing? I am leaving with the question: How can I integrate "paradura" - offerings and solidarity in my work? In what ways can we make offerings to each other so we feel the expanded we?
Transformative, creative moments at the residency Our night walk made a great impact on me. It felt as if the sensations were coming to me like in a dream.
