| Definition of artistic practice? | Our main artistic practise through Birca Kids was to give space for listening. First and foremost, to the need of the children, to the landscapes we visited yet also to the collective that we were a part of. In this sense and from before, our artistic practise stems from the curiosity and wish to investigate spaces of good relations. What good relations mean is both an individual yet also collective understanding. I mean that our base of artistic practise lays in between humanity, arts and culture, through the relation between each other, the more- than human world and the nature of all. |

| Description of investigations and findings | How to facilitate the children’s curiosities into creative moments was one of the main awareness points of view. We gave the relational aspect and process both time and space in the meeting with both ourselves, each other and the landscape. We as two families together, looked for one common task, a small daily ritual that we could act upon together each day. This daily ritual was a walk around the house of Birca. The walk was on our first day facilitated by Susanne, where we got to know the landscape and the plants and trees living with Birca. The days after we decided to walk the same path each day, to honor the place and its being, yet also to find small gifts from the natural world to place on our collective ritual – a visual installation that day by day would appear indoors at the big dance hall. Our intention was to give the children a common ground to experience relationships over time, choreography of being with a landscape, and a daily ritual. |
| What are you most curious about or invested in in your own practice? | I am most invested in the practice of being with the world of relations and how we can be able to create good relations with those, them and kin around us over time. I’m curious about how we can do things together and to not feel alone within practice rooms, growth and creative unfolding’s. I care about seeing within the web of life and that I am and we are not separated from life’s cycle and web. My greatest curiosity is how we can be a family that can share this point of view together. |
| What questions did you bring to investigate and what questions are you leaving with? | How to create safe and joyful spaces of being and creating for and with the children. How do we foster relationships that is about how we can be present with each other and the natural world with care, hope, curiosity, play and light. How can we create a light of hope within our time together with the children? |
| Transformative, creative moments at the residency | We had transformative and creative moments at the beaches in Bornholm. The children could explore their physicality in the meeting with the sea (like dolphins jumping across the waves), like sandy creatures (fully covered with sand from toe to shoulders). We brought with us small gifts to our ritual- visual installation in the dance hall. We brought stones, grasses, flowers, small pieces of broken wood, and the children found their ways to be creative with them. |
