| Title of the investigation at the residency | Bodily autonomy, bodily integrity related to the aging body. |
| Description of investigations and findings | Possibilities found in the restructuring of the body in the different phases of life. Gaining a personal and cultural insight that aging is not just “lost youth”, but in life can be new phases of quality and valuable insight, expression and experience. Challenge the taboo and ageism that comes with aging by not making ourselves invisible in society as well as in the arts. This is precisely why I think it is relevant as a choreographer and dancer to work with, as I work and communicate with the body in time and space, including the cultural and social space. |
| What are you most curious about or invested in in your own practice? | In my practice, I investigate studies of choreographic mappings of the body, as the visible body put into play for inspiration, observations and studies. I am particularly interested in immersing myself in the restructuring and aging body - the body which is my supreme artistic expression and tool in my creative processes and works. |
| What questions did you bring to investigate and what questions are you leaving with? | 1.How can I work without generating mental and physical exhaustion in my artistic practice as well as not demanding physical daily training and artistic results that blogs the energetic flow. 2. Focus on getting more energetic approaches into my practice |
| Transformative, creative moments at the residency | Precisely with being very aware of not having expectations to produce and press for artistic results. Flow and calm starts to happen and opened up into my dance/movement when I worked in the black and white hall at Birca. An investigation that I could bring out into the nature of Bornholm and recycle back again to the studios - that resonated with different energies I encountered, for example in stones, fossiles, waves or a spring/rotations, flow, age & transformation. |
