Definition of artistic practice? Choreography, Dance, Performance & Movements Method for the empirical studies through study practice could look like this *How do I create and shape an artistic and bodily practice based on the body I am now, my age and the expressions that arise from it *How through training - I physically examine what is - rather than training the body to be what I was. *How do I respect the limitations in the body that come with age and in relation to the expectations of previous physical ability. *How do time and space affect me in my dance and my bodily expression, e.g. slowness, productivity, vertical, versus horizontal and linear. *How do I avoid injuries. *How will it feel and what does it mean to express and move authentically based on the above studies and experiences. *How and what does it take for me to maintain a physical dance practice now and in the future regardless of age and physical ability. *How can I process, integrate and communicate these experiences through artistic practice in choreographic quality and artistic integrity and expression. *I will document and reflect on the study processes through video, scenic and written documentation and in co-dialogue with other artists, e.g. workshop, sharing and feed-back.
Title of the investigation at the residency Aging as bodily processes and experiences
Description of investigations and findings

Aging as bodily processes and experiences in an artistic context.

The body anchors us in the world and is the visible expression of who we are. The body through which we present ourselves, presents ourselves as people who experience, feel, think. The body is a fundamental phenomenon of human existence. Therefore, we must also challenge the taboo and the age-shame that comes with aging and not make ourselves invisible in society as well as in art. That is precisely why I think it is relevant as a choreographer and dancer to work with the concept of aging as I work and communicate with the body in time and space, including the cultural and social space.

FINDINGS : Incorporate neurological perspectives into my movement practice with a focus on the parasympathetic nervous system.

What are you most curious about or invested in in your own practice? Aging as bodily processes and experiences in an artistic and authentic context
What questions did you bring to investigate and what questions are you leaving with? Bring: I am particularly interested in immersing myself in the restructuring and aging body - the body which is my artistic sovereign expression and tool in my creative processes and works. What moves and is moved in the body and how does the body move as it gradually restructures and ages. Leaving: Incorporate neurological perspectives into my movement practice with a focus on the parasympathetic nervous system.
Transformative, creative moments at the residency In one warm up dancing session, I suddenly felt new energetic layers in my movements, both physically and mentally. The experience followed me the rest of the warm up and training that day. A dimension which I felt concerned the nervous system that I felt very strongly in energy and movement. It became a starting point for delving into neurological perspectives into my movement practice with focus on the parasympathetic nervous system.
