| Title of the investigation at the residency | Institute of Fundamental Affairs |
| Description of investigations and findings | I strongly believe that artists alone are not able to save the planet. But the planet cannot be healthy without the artists’ contribution. My investigation dives into various artistic practices that can help build interconnectivity between sectors, artistic practices that help us answer the following questions: how to be together? How to build new futures together? How to use new technologies in a way that is not detrimental to humankind or the planet? Can choreographic and bodily practices help solve adaptive challenges that society faces today? I would like to build a multisectoral think tank dealing with those issues. |
| What are you most curious about or invested in in your own practice? | I am interested in slicing up the pathway to the goal (The Institute) into smaller chunks. I would like to first bring people together into short-term, intersectoral residencies and see what happens. How to program the residencies? What is needed for “something to happen”? |
| What questions did you bring to investigate and what questions are you leaving with? | I came with the following questions: What practices are most interesting // most opening ? who should be part of the residencies? How to build the institute (practically and financially?) I leave with the following questions: Where can I root myself? With whom to collaborate? What are my deadlines? At which point should I call myself crazy and stop what I am doing and find a well-paid job and security? Where could I write a practice-based PHD and make the Institute my PHD? |
| Transformative, creative moments at the residency | The inspiring dialogues with all recidency participants, such as: Walk and Talk with Cherry Truluck – we spoke of importance of food and how a food artist would contribute to my short intersectoral residencies// food making as performance practice etc, the final presentation at BIRCA and the introductory workshop with Nana Francisca – I realized that I can take a more active role during the residencies I coordinate – I can guide moments of rest in a more performative way and in nature. |
